I’ve talked about this a million times on Instagram (so please excuse the repeat if you’ve heard these lines already) but I’ve had a hard time committing to my home ever since moving. In my former apartment I basically only had two chairs and a little table (besides my bed) that I found at Ikea. When I moved this time (a year ago now) I promised myself that I wouldn’t repeat this misstake and get settled as soon as I could to make this place feel like home. I’ve heard that even if you only live somewhere for 3 months, you should make it feel as home as much as you can since your home has such a big effect on our wellbeing. Despite knowing this, I haven’t been able to make much progress. Why you ask? Well, I’m not so sure… My only conclusion would be that I have some commitment issues. When it comes to apartments.

A year later, I still haven’t hung my curtains (I know, it’s ridiculously embarrassing) and no photos have made it onto the walls – or even into picture frames. But, I have to give myself a tiny pat on the back because during the last couple of weeks I’ve at least gotten myself a few little things that make it feel more like home. As I’ve promised an update about my apartment situation, here you go. It’s not much but at least a little something! And even getting these little things has encouraged me to continue and hopefully (let’s not have another year go by) I might have a complete place of my own.
