Nights With Lanvin
Recent work for Lanvin
A while back now, I don't even remember when exactly... Perhaps in November last year? Anyway, it doesn't really matter, I photographed this story for Lanvin and their beautifulJiJi Bag.
We photographed this bag in three different parts, this being the last story of the day that we shot in the beautiful Hotel Le Bristol in Paris. I normally don't photograph much in such dark light (I tend to do as much as I can in natural daylight since that goes best with my style) so this was a bit of challenge for me but luckily I had the opportunity to work with the best team ever, which made things so much easier (or maybe less stressful).
Pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone and trying things you're not normally that used to can be incredibly scary but can also show you what you're really capable of. I actually have to say (and I don't say this about my own work that often) that I'm very happy with the outcome of this story and fell in love with the beautiful, dark colours we ended up with.
I know I say this quite a bit but it's because I really mean it, when you get the opportunity to work together with people you really trust, have fun with and can rely on, everything else comes so much easier. Surrounding yourself with a great team I think is absolutely essential and that's why I'm so happy I've found these genuine and truly talented people to bring in once I get assignments that require more than just a photographer on set.
Trine, who has done the hair and make-up for this story, has also done the make-up on me for previous projects and is a person who brings the loveliest energy onto set and makes everyone around her smile. I randomly found Trine on Instagram a while back, before my very first shoot with Boucheron and reached out to her to see if she would be interested in working together. Luckily she was and we've been friends ever since.
Christina is a fellow blonde Swede and we both actually worked at Swedish ELLE (she at the fashion magazine and me at the interior one) when we lived back in Sweden but never met until we relocated to Paris. Christina works as an incredibly talented fashion stylist and if she has time in between shooting for Vogue Paris and other various clients she's my rock during jobs like this. Yeah, I told you, I'm a pretty lucky gal when it comes to the lovely people I get to work with.
