Côte d’Azur with Chanel, II
Besides attending the Hyères festival we also drove to Saint Tropez for the opening of the new Chanel pop-up store. Personal fact about me: I'm not a bit fan of long car rides since I tend to get a little bit dizzy after a while, which makes the French Riviera a tiny bit difficult to navigate – even though the view along the rode can be pretty spectacular. When I saw a glimpse of the turquoise water and a little path leading down to a quiet beach I couldn't contain my excitement and had to scream "stop the car right here!" to our driver. I blame it on needing a little pause and some fresh air but actually it was more for being able to walk barefoot in the sand and dipping my toes in the Mediterranean sea for the very first time this season! There's something about being close to the sea... It just makes me feel so incredibly happy and peaceful.
Before attending the store opening we had half a day to stroll the streets of Saint Tropez and believe me, we used every little second of that time in Saint Tropez. I haven't been back in 7 years. No, that's a lie. 10 years now. That's just crazy. The adorable pastel coloured streets haven't changed much and neither have the flashy yatchs or cars circling around the city – they're all still there. I can't even imagine how busy this little town gets during the summer and the month of August when the streets already looked quite crowded in April... I'm pretty sure Ylenia (who accompanied me as my photography assistant during the trip) and I were in pastel colour heaven while visiting this place. Look at all of that pink!
Saturday evening we discovered the Chanel boutique in Saint Tropez and oh. my. lord. It's out of this world. I don't even think it's possible to call it a boutique. It's more like a huge mansion or a villa if I could describe it. Every year they open up a little pop-up shop in the pool house across the garden and this evening we had the chance to celebrate this little occasion. I've already noted down several pairs of shoes and bags I definitely need to upgrade my closet with...
It was the loveliest ending to this little tour of a small part of the French Riviera together with Chanel and it felt so good to feel the sun in my face again. Merci beaucoup for the most beautiful little getaway!
