Something Sweet
When I first came to Paris for four months (which seems like forever ago now) my apartment was constantly filled with desserts, sweets and pastries in all shapes and forms. I basically wanted to try every macaron, St. Honoré and Madeleine cookie I could come across. Why? Do you really need a reason why? No, I didn't think so.
In Sweden we definitely have pastries but coming to Paris was like discovering a whole new (pastry) world. Over here everything is so well made and the attention to detail is just mind-blowing.
I eventually had to take some control over this sugary pleasure after my jeans started to become a bit too hard to zip up... I realised that even though I enjoyed these sweet little things it was time to start passing by the patisserie shops without popping in every. single. time.
I still enjoy these delicious treats but nowadays I think the novelty of it has worn off a tiny bit (thank god!), although that doesn't mean I can't occasionally (meaning more often than I probably should...) pick up one or two sweets when I'm in the mood for it. After all, it would be a shame neglecting these incredible pastries when living in Paris.
